Willis C. Silverthorn
Willis Chisholm Silverthorn was an American lawyer, judge, banker, politician and businessman from Wausau, Wisconsin who served in both the Wisconsin State Senate and the Wisconsin State Assembly.〔("Members of the Wisconsin Legislature 1848–1999 State of Wisconsin Legislative Bureau. Silverthorn was born on August 30, 1838 in Toronto, Ontario,〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Silverthorn, Willis C. Hon. (1881) )〕 the son of George and Sarah (Austin) Silverthorn. When he was three years old his family emigrated to Oakland in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, where he lived until leaving for Albion Academy, and then the University of Wisconsin. He graduated from their law school, was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 1863, and in 1864 moved to Wausau. He practiced law there, and in 1869 went into the banking business with his brother George Silverthorn and Daniel L. Plumer.〔(Hart, Bill.
